Bitmap fonts can be used for various purposes, for example for creating 3D text effects in specific applications. Still, in order to create such fonts, you will need a specialized application.
One such application is Alphabix. This Windows program allows you to create various bitmap fonts, which can then be used together with BluffTitler, which is an application for creating animated and 3D font effects.
After installing Alphabix, you will just need to select the characters which will be used for creating the bitmap fonts. You can easily select several characters just by hovering the mouse over them and holding the left click. After the desired characters have been selected, the bitmap font can be created.
In the end, you will be able to either export the bitmap font to a PNG graphical file or just export it to HTML. Optionally, you can select the background color.
Pros
It allows you to easily generate bitmap fonts just by selecting the desired characters. Besides that, you can change the color of the character and background. Furthermore, bitmap fonts can be exported to a PNG image file or to HTML.
Cons
The interface and the program's options may seem a bit too simple for some users. With the help of Alphabix, you can easily generate bitmap fonts which can then be used in a multitude of applications.
